Chapter Philanthropy

Kappa Kappa Gamma Beta Chi hosts many events throughout the year to benefit Reading is Fundamental and the Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation. This fall we are planning a new event called, Kappa Cookout & Kornhole. It will feature a cornhole tournament amongst chapters and organizations. In the spring we host Kappa Bowl with Kappa Alpha. This is an indoor, inflatable soccer tournament where we coach and cheer on the participants!

The Beta Chi chapter hosts a Reading is Key event each semester at a local elementary school. At these events, our chapter is able to provide over 700 books to the students, meaning that each student goes home with a brand new, completely free book. The smiles on each child's face as they receive their own book could light up a room.

In order to raise money to purchase the books that we give the students at the Reading Is Key events, the Beta Chi chapter hosts two large fundraising events- The Amazing Race in the fall and The Kappa Bowl in the spring. The Amazing Race is, similar to the hit TV show, a giant scavenger hunt across UK's campus, and The Kappa Bowl is a huge bubble soccer tournament. Members from other chapters on campus form teams ad sign up to participate. Each one of these events are super fun and allow us to raise the funds we need to purchase 700 books each semester for the students!

Kappa Kappa Gamma Beta Chi also raises money for GIRLS Academy. GIRLS Academy is a retreat for middle school girls that builds positive self-image and respect. The Beta Chi chapter hopes to host a GIRLS Academy in Spring of 2020!
